Earlier this week, Benzema was called up to the France squad for the first time since being embroiled in a bitter scandal that saw him stand accused of conspiracy to commit blackmail against former teammate Valbuena in 2015.
Following the incident, both players were frozen out by Les Bleus boss Didier Deschamps, but Benzema has now been recalled to the team after being named in the 26-man squad for the upcoming UEFA European Championship.
Valbuena, who won more than 50 caps for France before being exiled, revealed that he held no ill-feeling towards Deschamps for his decision to include the prolific striker in his selection for next month's tournament.
"If [Benzema] can bring more to the France team, that's good for him. It will be on the field that it will be played," Valbuena told RMC Sport. "It is the coach's choice. For me, Didier will be a winner in all cases. If the France team wins, we will say that he was able to adapt, and if it fails, we will not blame him.
"He knows how to make his lists. He's very smart about that. Did he call me to let me know about his decision with Benzema? No, I don't expect anything from Didier, nothing from anyone. Today, I make my life and I have fun in the field. I have no further comments to make."
