Bloemfontein Celtic coach Steve Komphela calls for Mamelodi Sundowns focus in Telkom Knockout

Celtic would certainly love to go one further this year after they were edged 1-0 by Bidvest Wits in the final last year in KwaZulu-Natal.

Celtic start this year's edition with a tough match away from home against 2015 champions Sundowns on Saturday.

"Not that it's tricky. The quality at Sundowns we all know and in a situation where teams are seeded you have no choice - you are going to get a top dog," Komphela said.

"We need to go through the Sundowns hurdle first, the big one. We don't want to look at the end when in the beginning you are facing a cement wall. We need to go through Sundowns and then take baby steps.

"Having been in the final last year, it gives us hope to replicate that and even go one further and win it. We have to be optimistic and we have to acknowledge it," concluded the former Kaizer Chiefs tactician.

Celtic have already played Sundowns this season in the Absa Premiership, a game which ended goalless at Dr Molemela Stadium before the international break.
