The KwaZulu-Natal-based goalkeeper coach who currently holds a CAF Licence alongside SAFA goalkeeper coaching levels, had the likes of the legendary Mlungisi "Professor" Ngubane as teammates.

"When I was about 15 years old, we used to watch Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates on TV2, and I was inspired by their goalkeepers, Joseph 'Banks' Sethlodi and Patson Banda.
"There was also Moses 'Skebhe' Khenyeza who also played for Kaizer Chiefs.
"The way they appeared diving in magazines and newspaper pictures inspired me.
"That's what made me want to become a goalkeeper. So, diving is what lured me to goalkeeping, it inspired me.
"While in Grade 9, I was selected by Durban Bush Bucks. I played in the Zambuk league, I met the likes of Ngubane, and at African Wanderers, I met Henry 'Black Cat' Cele of Shaka Zulu fame."

Who are some of the goalkeepers today who are your favourites?
"I will go with Ronwen Williams. There is also Melusi Buthelezi whom I believe is a future Bafana Bafana number 1.
"There is also Veli Mothwa at AmaZulu. Those three I feel are the best goalkeepers we currently have.
"As South Africa, we need to develop and protect our goalkeepers.
"In Morocco, there is a rule that says a goalkeeper must be a local.
"In Egypt, no foreign goalkeeper is allowed to play in their league."
