AmaZulu alleged to owe player outstanding salary

Player representative Minenhle Mkhize has confirmed that client Mswati Mavuso failed to receive his salary at DStv Premiership side AmaZulu for the month of September.

Mavuso, alongside Siphelele Maduna, Mxolisi Kunene, and Lindani Shange have all currently been excluded from the first-team side after being deemed surplus to requirements this season.

Defender Thendo Mukumela has also departed Usuthu, after being informed of not being in head coach Pablo Franco Martin's plans this season.

Mkhize has confirmed that Mavuso departed with two years remaining on his contract at AmaZulu. "Mswati is still contracted to AmaZulu for the next two years.

The club exercised his option and then later deemed him surplus to requirements.

"He was then offered a six-month termination deal while still having two years remaining on his contract.

"The boy rejected their offer. It's not true that he doesn't want to play football anymore.

"This month we were surprised when he was not paid his salary. We informed the club.

"They promised to sort the matter out," Mkhize tells KickOff.

Usuthu media officer Brilliant Mkhathini said he was not aware of Mswati Mavuso's dispute when contacted for comment.
