Several teams bolstered their squads for the ongoing tournament, with European giants Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Inter Milan all reinforcing their ranks.

In Africa, Al Ahly and Wydad strengthened their sides, while Mamelodi Sundowns and Espérance de Tunis made no tournament‑specific signings.
Among Wydad’s new recruits are Nordin Amrabat from Hull City and Dutch defender Bart Meijers from Banja Luka in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Casablanca club were also linked with Senegal international Nampalys Mendy, Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech and five‑time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.
It has now emerged that Wydad were keen on another high‑profile name: former France international Mamadou Sakho.
According to Afrik‑Foot, Sakho revealed during Club World Cup commentary for DAZN that he had received an offer from Wydad several weeks ago.
The ex‑Liverpool defender added that he rejected the proposal in favour of continuing his current commentary and punditry role with DAZN.
Sakho, whose contract with Torpedo Kutaisi in Georgia recently expired, is currently a free agent.
