Sundowns' Group rivals tipped for Champions League glory

Mamelodi Sundowns' Group B rivals AS FAR Rabat are aiming to make history in the CAF Champions League this season, according to one of their former players.

AS FAR head into Saturday's clash against Raja Casablanca needing just one point to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

The Moroccans are just one of three teams left in the competition yet to suffer a defeat and former star Hussein Ouchla feels this is the year Rabat will secure their second Champions League title.

"The Royal Army has an irreplaceable historic opportunity to reach the quarter-finals," Ochla told Kooora.

"All the factors are in favor of the Royal Army, whether it's home advantage and the fans, as well as topping the group and having the advantage of winning the first leg.

"One point is enough for the Royal Army to secure qualification to the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, so it's unimaginable to waste this opportunity."

He noted, "I won the Moroccan League, the Throne Cup and the Confederation Cup with the Royal Army, but we were not lucky enough to win the Champions League.

"I believe that the current generation has a chance to win the Champions League, thanks to the presence of distinguished players."
