The ownership issue of Mbabane Highlanders will be heard in court today, with Shauwn Mkhize expected to be embroiled in another legal issue, but this time in Eswatini.
‘MaMkhize’, who is no stranger to controversy, drew headlines last month after being announced as the new president for Highlanders, plying their trade in the eSwatini Premier League.
However, Mkhize’s arrival in eSwatini has been marred by drama after the club’s former boss Bheki Simelane took her to court in the dispute over the ownership of the Swazi soccer giants.

Simelane claims that the Highlanders ownership was unlawfully removed from him and is challenging the order by the club’s patrons to hand over ownership of the Black Bull to Mkhize.
Former Mbabane Highlanders Managing Director Mandla Shongwe has confirmed that the matter regarding the club's ownership has now been taken to the High Court in eSwatini.
“The matter will be heard at the High Court today,” Shongwe tells KickOff.com.
“The club was unlawfully taken away from us. The club still belongs to us. We have a running contract up until the end of 2025/6 season. MaMkhize promised to meet us and try to resolve the matter. That has not happened and hence we have taken this matter to the High Court,” he added.

MaMkhize has resurfaced in football after losing the status of Royal AM in the Betway Premiership last season, after the club was placed under curatorship related to a R40 million debt to SARS.
The KwaZulu-Natal businesswoman is reported to be facing another legal battle to a three-year sponsorship deal received from the Msunduzi Municipality.
Efforts to reach out to Mbabane Highlanders AM official Richard Makhoba for comment, was unsuccessful.
