OFFICIAL: Mokwana's Esperance to face familiar foe

CAF has now confirmed some scintillating fixtures for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League.

The Champions League last-eight draw was revealed on Thursday evening, with the procedure conducted at the beIN Sports headquarters in Qatar's capital, Doha.

Only two countries had more than one representative club in the draw, namely South Africa and Egypt.

Reigning champions Al Ahly and Pyramids FC are the two Egyptian sides, while Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates represent Mzansi.

Al Ahly will now face Al Hilal in the next round of the competition in their quest to claim a third successive title.

Heading into the draw, Pirates' potential opponents were local rivals Sundowns, Algerian giants MC Alger, and Pyramids from Egypt.

It has now been confirmed that the Bucs will take on MC Alger in the quarter-finals.

The quarter-finals of the competition will be played over two legs, with the first leg scheduled for 1-2 April and the second leg on 8-9 April 2025.

The Champions League quarter-final fixtures are as follows:

Al Ahly (Egypt) v Al Hilal (Sudan)

Pyramids FC (Egypt) v AS FAR Rabat (Morocco)

Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) v Esperance (Tunisia)

MC Alger (Algeria) v Orlando Pirates (South Africa)
