FIFA confirm top 10 biggest spenders in Africa

FIFA have revealed the ten biggest spending teams in Africa last year.

The world football governing body released their annual finding of the top spenders around the world.

Unsurprisingly, clubs from England were the biggest spenders with a total outlay of $1.88 billion in 2024 followed by France and Italy in second and third respectively.

While FIFA have not disclosed the spending in Africa, they have now revealed that South African champions Mamelodi Sundowns are the top spenders for 2024 on the continent.

The Brazilians made a total five signings in 2024, which include striker Arthur Sales who joined the club in deal reportedly worth €3.2million (R63 million).

African champions Al Ahly have been revealed now been dethroned by Sundowns and drop to second spot on the list, while Tunisian giants Esperance complete the top three on FIFA's list.
