Nabi diagnoses Chiefs' missed chances

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has offered his assessment of his side's missed chances as the Naturena-based outfit returned to winning form with a 2-1 victory over Richards Bay FC.

Amakhosi collected their third win of the season at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium on Wednesday, piling further misery on 14th-placed Richards Bay.

Goals from Wandile Duba and Ashley Du Preez were enough to kill the game, although the visitors pulled one back through Yanela Mbuthuma in added time.

The match, though, may as well have ended with a much higher scoreline were it were not for the Soweto giants squandering several clear scoring chances.

Christian Saile and Yusuf Maart both failed to find the back of the net at point-blank range.

Nabi agrees with this notion.

"It's true that we could have killed or ended the game. We had many scoring chances to make it 3-0," Nabi said via assistant coach and translator Cedric Kaze.

"In these cases where you don't kill the game, you keep the opponents alive and you see what happens in the end, we were a little bit under pressure.

"It's true that maybe it's a bit of a lack of concentration, maybe a bit of overconfidence as well. But today, we feel that we need to encourage our players because the most difficult thing in football is to create opportunities.

"Then you have to figure out how to kill it when you have the opportunity," he explained further.
