Arteta admits he loved furious bust-up between his two stars

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has admitted to loving the furious bust-up that occurred between two of his stars on Tuesday night.

The Gunners managed to collect three points on their trip to Nottingham Forest, beating the Tricky Trees 2-1 courtesy of goals by Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.

Forest, however, managed to pull a goal back in the 89th minute through Taiwo Awoniyi, which made for a nervy ending to the game for Arsenal.

This is said to have been the cause of the bust-up between Gunners defenders Ben White and Oleksandr Zinchenko after the final whistle was blown.

The pair fell into a heated exchange, with Arteta having to step in to try and bring some calm to the situation.

Despite having to be an intermediary in a conflict between two of his own players, the Spaniard evidently liked what he saw.

"That's pushing each other and being not happy conceding, and I have to encourage that and promote it in the right way and a respectful way," the manager said after the match, per the Mirror.

"Sometimes after the game it's emotional and heated, but I love that the players are pushing each other and demanding excellence.

"It got a bit heated. But that means that it's enough. Playing the way we played, the result has to be bigger and the clean sheet has to be there."

The victory puts the Gunners right back in the title race as they are now two points behind leaders Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

Arsenal will, however, have a chance to narrow that gap further when the London club takes on the Merseysiders on Sunday.

"We have some momentum now with those results. Now go, go, go. We have a beautiful game [against Liverpool] ahead of us and we have to make sure we have everybody ready for that," Arteta added.
