Instead, the club has sanctioned four first-team exits, namely Donny van de Beek, Hannibal Mejbri and Jadon Sancho on loan, as well as Sergio Reguilon, whose loan stint from Tottenham Hotspur was cut short.
A fifth star is now set to complete another loan move away from Old Trafford for the remainder of the season.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United winger Facundo Pellistri will join Granada on loan until June.
It is said the Uruguay international will complete medical tests on Wednesday before being formally unveiled by the Spanish club.
It is claimed the deal will not include an option to buy, although the LALIGA side may push to keep him beyond the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
It is further suggested that United manager Erik ten Hag gave the green light to the move because he views another young winger at the club, Omari Forson, to have a higher potential than Pellistri, who has been given just 366 minutes of play this term.
The South American attacker's contract at the Theatre of Dreams is set to expire in June 2025, while his market value sitting at just €10 million (R202 million), as per Transfermarkt.
