Nomvethe: 'The Motaungs have done everything'

Siyabonga Nomvethe challenges the current Kaizer Chiefs players to prove they are really worth donning the club's gold and black colours.

Chiefs crashed out of the MTN8 on Saturday after a 2-1 (3-2 aggregate) defeat to Mamelodi in a tense semi-final showdown.

Nomvethe says the Kaizer Chiefs management has now done everything in the transfer market and it is time the new signings repay the faith that has been shown in them.

"The club has done everything now," Nomvethe tells KickOff.

"That said though, the coach Molefi Ntseki should be afforded enough time to work on the team.

"He cannot turn things around in just a few months.

"You need enough time to build a team, you actually need a full season to make a team play the way you want them to play.

"You can buy all the players you want but they will still need to combine.

"Yes, there will always be expectations because the club has been not doing well for a long time now, that's what puts the current coach under pressure.

"The players that have been brought in to improve the team, it's time they help the team win.

"I think it is in the player's hands now to make the team win because they are there because they are talented.

"It's time they deliver. We can't always blame the coach. As players, we must win games for the team.

"The coach is not the one playing, it's us players who are out there running on the pitch.

"Yes, the coach will give you an instruction, but if it is not working for you then use your talent.

"So, I am saying it's time the Kaizer Chiefs players show us why they are there."
