Kaizer Chiefs confirm midfielder's departure

Kaizer Chiefs on Monday confirmed the departure of out of favour midfielder Kamohelo Mahlatsi after just one season at the Soweto giants.

Mahlatsi joined Amakhosi from Swallows (now Moroka Swallows) at the start of the 2022/23 season as part of a three-player package that included Dillan Solomons and George Matlou.

Aside from Solomons, the duo has struggled to replicate the form that made them sought after talents while at the Dube Birds.

"Kamohelo Mahlatsi has left Kaizer Chiefs after the midfielder's contract was terminated by mutual consent. He is now a free agent. We wish him all the best," the club wrote in a brief statement.

Mahlatsi has not featured for Ntseki's side this season while he made seven appearances last season, only three of which from a starting eleven.

The attacking midfielder becomes the eighth departure from Naturena following the exits of Khama Billiat, Caleb Bimenyimana, Cole Alexander, Phathutshedzo Nange, Eric Mathoho, Kgaogelo Sekgota and Austin Dube.

Meanwhile, Chiefs are working on signing Stellenbosch midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa KickOff understands.
