Broos addresses lack of supporters at Bafana matches

Head coach Hugo Broos admits he was left slightly disappointed with a poor turnout of supporters at Orlando Stadium where Bafana Bafana played to a goalless draw against Namibia.

Despite being undefeated in their last eight matches, Broos' Bafana Bafana are still struggling to pull spectators to the stadium, managing to attract under 10,000 to a 30,000 capacity Orlando Stadium on Saturday.

"Yes, look I want to play every game at a full stadium," Broos responded when asked if he was surprised by the poor turnout.

"Honestly, I expected that there should be more supporters because we've been getting good results but okay, maybe we have to play more good games before the public comes back to the stadiums.

"It will depend on us, If we are not playing good games and we don't win games then I think it's a difficult also for supporters to come to the stadium

"Okay, it was quite a number of supporters, but honestly I thought that there should be more."

The match against Namibia was the first of four friendly matches to be played in September and October as part of the national team's  preparations for next year's Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon).

Bafana Bafana take on DR Congo at Orlando Stadium on Tuesday. Kick-off is at 17:00.
