With his contract set to expire soon, Lionel Messi has once again opened up about his struggles in his debut campaign at Paris Saint-Germain.
The Argentine left FC Barcelona in August 2021 under controversial circumstances as he had been promised a new deal by the club only for things to fall apart at the last minute as Blaugrana president Joan Laporta confirmed they were unable to provide the attacker with a contract extension as a result of their poor finances.

Messi was left devastated by the episode, with his 20-year association with the LaLiga giants drawing to a sad conclusion for both the player and fans alike.
PSG wasted no time snapping the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner up as a free agent, with the French side tying the South American down to a two-year deal.
However, the 35-year-old would find it difficult to adapt to life in France, enduring his worst season in more than a decade as he recorded his poorest goal return since the 2007/08 campaign, with just six strikes in Ligue 1.
As a result, in 2022, he failed to make the 30-man nominees shortlist for the Ballon d'Or for the first time since 2006.
In an interview with PSG's official YouTube channel, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner admitted he found it difficult to adjust to a new environment in France after decades in Spain, but having had a much better season this time around, added that he is now enjoying life at the Parc des Princes.
"The truth is I feel great. The first year I had a hard time adapting to Paris for different reasons," Messi explained.
"This season I started differently, with a lot of enthusiasm, a lot of desire. [I'm] more comfortable with the club, the city and everything that Paris means.
"And the truth is that I am really enjoying this season.
"I think my whole life has been like that. About dedication, work, effort and wanting more every day.
"I've arrived at a new club and I want to win the title with Paris, to be able to achieve the big goals we set ourselves at the beginning of the season."
The Albiceleste skipper also lauded teammate Kylian Mbappe following their "breathtaking" encounter in the World Cup final in Qatar.

"It really was a breathtaking final, it's crazy how the match went. Kylian's performance was great too. Scoring three goals in a final and not being able to be a champion was something crazy," Messi continued.
"But he's already won it too, he knows what it is to be world champion. But it was a beautiful final for the world of football.
"And now it's nice to be able to play for the same team and hopefully we can do great things in Paris."
