Philippe Coutinho: FC Barcelona club record signing to be sold after UEFA Champions League horror show?

Philippe Coutinho 'is not a Barcelona player' and will reportedly be the first player to be be offloaded in the next transfer window.   Coutinho, 26, is the club's record signing at €160 million but has not performed to the level expected of him since his arrival from Liverpool in January 2018.   His displays against the Reds over the two semi-final UEFA Champions League ties has further convinced the Blaugrana heirarchy to cut their losses on the Brazil international that was signed to replace Neymar Jr.   According to ESPN FC, a reliable informant has opened up on his potential exit within the coming month: "Coutinho is not a Barcelona player, that's been made clear."   The technically gifted playmaker has subsequently been linked with an immediate return to England with Manchester United mooted as a potential suitor - however Paris Saint-Germain has also been linked with a move in recent weeks.   With Diario Sport labelling the 4-0 defeat the "biggest embarrassment" in the club's history, club President Josep Maria Bartomeu says there will be time to reflect on how they recover from a second successive European humiliation.    "There will be time for a deep reflection and to give explanations," he said after the game. "Last year, in Rome, the same thing happened and it's not easy to explain. We will try to do so internally.   "We have to pick ourselves up and apologise to all the Barcelona supporters."   The 47-time Selecao star has scored 11 goals and registered five assists in 52 games across all comeptitions for the LaLiga champions.
