Higuain's time in Turin is set to come to an end after Juve elected to terminate his contract prematurely, with a final payout still to be determined.
Last week, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported that Higuain and Sami Khedira, two of the Bianconeri's highest-paid players, had their contracts torn up despite both players still having a year remaining on their existing deals.
Pirlo has now confirmed that the former Argentina international is not in his plans for the coming season and that the 32-year-old will leave the club in the coming days.
"We've decided together with Gonzalo Higuain that he'll leave the club this summer. He's out of the project and we're ready to let him go," he said during a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, per Romano.
The move comes just weeks after France international Blaise Matuidi was released to join MLS side Inter Miami, with Higuain also expected to sign a deal in the US once a final settlement is agreed with Juventus.
The former Real Madrid and Napoli star has been with the club since 2016, and scored 66 goals in 149 appearances either side of loan spells with Premier League outfit Chelsea and domestic rivals AC Milan.
