Reigning Serie A champions Juventus have confirmed the departure of 2018 FIFA World Cup-winning midfielder Blaise Matuidi.
On Wednesday afternoon, the Bianconeri announced that Matuidi's three-season stay in Turin had come to an end following the expiration of his contract with the club.

The 33-year-old France international made 133 appearances during his time with the Old Lady, with whom he won three Serie A titles, and one trophy in each of the Coppa Italia and Italian Super Cup competitions.
"... It was above all his substance in the midline that made the difference, and made him a much-loved player among the Juventus fans: for his determination, for his stubbornness and for his ability to never give up," the club said in an official statement.
"And it is for all these characteristics and for the great commitment he has always put in place with us that we thank him from the heart. And we wish him good luck in the future."

Prior to his departure, Matuidi was strongly linked with a move to the United States where he is expected to join Inter Miami, who are part-owned by former England captain David Beckham, in the coming days.
The Toulouse-born midfielder is the second Juventus player to leave ahead of the 2020/21 campaign, with Miralem Pjanic having already agreed to join FC Barcelona as part of a deal that will see Arthur move in the opposite direction.
