Ronaldo 'makes decision' on future amid Al Ahly links

Portugal star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly made a final decision on his future amid the links with Al Ahly.

The 39-year-old's contract with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr expires at the end of June.

Ronaldo posted a cryptic message on social media with the caption 'this chapter is over', which led to speculation about leaving the club.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner has been linked with a number of clubs competing at the FIFA Club World Cup next month, including Al Ahly and Wydad Casablanca.

However, Foot Mercato claim that Ronaldo has decided to sign an extension with Al Nassr.

The Portugal superstar has netted an impressive 93 goal in 105 appearances for the Saudi Arabian outfit since arriving in 2023.

Al-Nassr sporting director Fernando Hierro stated earlier this week that the club are working hard to keep Ronaldo at the club.

"I have to be positive. I don't think Ronaldo will leave Al-Nassr," Hierro told reporters, as per Daily Mail.

"In any case, we are working hard on all aspects. Ronaldo's contract with Al-Nassr runs until the end of June 30.

"We will work to renew his contract so he can continue with us, and there are many clubs interested in signing him.

"He is a huge phenomenon in the history of football and has helped the league grow.

"We are in contact to renew his contract and hope he continues with us."
