Red Devils legend Roy Keane stated that Bruno Fernandes should be stripped of the captaincy for his behaviour on the pitch, while big-money signing Antony also caught some flack.
Ten Hag, however, does not agree with the the criticism directed at his players.
"That is not right," Ten Hag said, as per ESPN.
"You can't say that. Remember only the fight we showed against Brentford [to win the game in stoppage time]. If there wasn't spirit in the dressing room and characters in the dressing room, you couldn't do this.
"I have a good squad and I am convinced of the players in this dressing room. They can do a lot better but that is up to me. I have the responsibility to let them play better and I will put every effort in."
The Red Devils return to action on Saturday afternoon, as they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage looking to return to winning ways.
