Performances have also been questionable, with the likes of Marcus Rashford and Antony coming under fire for an apparent lack of output.

The team's UEFA Champions League form has also been murky as they have lost to every team in their group so far, namely Bayern Munich, Galatasaray, and Copenhagen.

As such, manager Erik ten Hag's future has become the subject of increasing speculation.

Furthermore, the arrival of new part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected inspire several changes in the team, with the British billionaire reportedly set to see oversee all footballing operations once his 25% stake in the club is officially acquired.

There are now reports that Ten Hag's job is on the line, and that the club has identified his potential replacement.

According to Spanish journalist Juanma Castano, United have tabled an offer to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti to step into the helm at Old Trafford next season.
