Manchester United have now reportedly agreed a deal for a LALIGA star as the club looks to strengthen ahead of the new season.
The Red Devils struggled with injuries in the 2023/24 campaign, with manager Erik ten Hag forced to deal with 60 individual cases of injury or illness.

The left-back position was one of the Dutch tactician's biggest headaches as Luke Shaw missed a total of 34 matches due to muscle injuries, with his last appearance for the club coming in February this year.
Tyrell Malacia, who joined the side in 2022, failed to make a single appearance over the course of the season, with it reported that the Dutchman was struggling with a knee injury.
As such, United are believed to have prioritised the signing of a new left-back, and have consequently turned their attention to Girona defender Miguel Gutierrez, according to TEAMtalk, who cited reports out of Spain.
It has been claimed that Ten Hag is "obsessed" with the former Real Madrid star, and that the Premier League are the favourites in the pursuit for his signature.
Despite the 22-year-old currently representing the White and Reds, the United hierarchy will have to negotiate his purchase with Los Blancos.
This is because Real are claimed to have retained 50% of his rights, a sell-on clause, as well as a buy-back option believed to be valued at €8 million (about R159 million) when they allowed the player to join their LALIGA counterparts.
The 15-time UEFA Champions League winners are said to have already let Girona know they will be exercising the latter option before agreeing a deal with United for €40 million (R795 million), which the EPL giants are believed to have agreed to pay.
