Manchester United have now confirmed another first-team player departure.

The Premier League giants have announced that defender Willy Kambwala has agreed to join Villarreal on a permanent transfer, bringing to an end his time at Old Trafford.

The Frenchman is the seventh player to leave the club ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, and will now join Donny van de Beek in Spain after the Dutchman recently completed a move to Girona

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the deal for the centre-back amounts to a total of €10 million, including add-ons.

The 19-year-old defender joined United's youth academy from Sochaux in 2020, and rose through the ranks, making his first-team debut in the 2023/24 season, in an EPL encounter against West Ham United.

He ended up making 10 appearances for the Red Devils across all competitions last term.

Kambwala took to social media to wish his now-former club all the best for the season ahead.

"I arrived at the club as a boy with a dream and today I'm leaving like a young man who has fulfilled his dream," the player wrote on Instagram.

"From the academy to the first team, it's time for me to start a new adventure after four wonderful seasons at the club.

"Thank you to all the people I have met during these four years. Coaches, my teammates, staff members, workers in Carrington and members of my host family.

"I'll never forget what you all did for me. A special thank you to you fans who have always supported me, you are the soul of this club.

"I wish you the best for this season and for the future."
