The Dutch star is set to join Girona in Spain on a three-year deal for a €500 000 (R9.7 million) fixed fee, plus several add-ons that could see the price rise up to €15 million (R293 million), according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 27-year-old had a spell to forget at Old Trafford following his arrival in 2020, having made a measly 62 appearances for the club since then, contributing with just two goals and two assists.

He was also loaned out to Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt, but neither of those moves were successful as he played just seven matches for the Toffees and eight times for the Bundesliga outfit.
