This role would leave the 57-year-old with the responsibility of appointing the next manager should Mauricio Pochettino be sacked, as well as control over all transfer matters.
It is said that Campos' goal in his tenure will be to "change mentalities at PSG", which includes getting rid of players who have no future in Paris.
According to Le Parisien, at least 10 of the club's first-team squad could be shown the exit door in the coming months.
Left-back Layvin Kurzawa is one of the stars who could be cut after getting just nine minutes under his belt in this latest campaign, and while he was linked with an exit in the previous window, one did not materialise, but he is expected to move on in the coming weeks.
Argentine striker Mauro Icardi is also said to be on the exit list after failing to make the desired impact in Paris since joining from Inter Milan in 2020, having netted only five goals this season.
