PSG boss responds to Neymar's angry behaviour

Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier has responded to Neymar's visibly angry reaction to being substituted off on the weekend.

PSG claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Olympique Lyon on Sunday to maintain a two-point gap at the top of the Ligue 1 standings.

Lionel Messi's fifth-minute strike was set up by Neymar, who was substituted off in the 86th minute for new arrival Carlos Soler.

However, the manager's decision to take the 30-year-old off seemed to irk the Brazilian as he was visibly upset as he walked off the pitch.

Galtier has since responded to the No. 10's reaction, perhaps surprisingly revealing he is happy with the way the attacker conducted himself in the moment.

"In these matches, the great players have to stand out like Ney and Messi tonight, who were very good," he told Prime Video.

"Neymar has worked a lot for the team. He came out, in my opinion, a little flushed and a little angry but that's normal.

"He has impeccable behaviour."

The coach then added that the Selecao talisman is the more dynamic player in the attacking trio that includes Messi and Kylian Mbappe.

"He is the one who gives the best balance. He has volume and intensity, he is also generous to the team," Galtier continued.

"He is both able to replace himself and to have dazzling, technical quality.

"He is a great entertainer."

Neymar has had a prolific start to the campaign, having registered a stunning 19 goal contributions in just 11 matches across all competitions so far for PSG.
