With some reports suggesting that Dani Alves is set to earn a weekly wage of just €1 (R17.50) in his FC Barcelona homecoming, we decided to take a look at the lowest-paid stars at every Premier League club.
Five years after his departure from the club, 38-year-old Alves is once again a Blaugrana player, in a deal that is said to be the cheapest in Europe as the Brazilian right-back has agreed to become the Spanish giants' lowest-paid player, according to reports.
However, his contract with Barca is said to be heavily incentivised with big-money bonuses, depending on his and the LaLiga club's performances this season.
How does that wage compare to that of every EPL side's lowest earner, though?

Arsenal ended the most recent window as the Premier League's biggest spenders after they went on a £156.8 million (R3.2 billion) spree to sign a number of young players, including Ben White, Martin Odegaard, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Nuno Tavares.
Portuguese left-back Tavares was the cheapest of the Gunners' signings, and he is also the north London club's lowest-paid star on £27 000 (R562 000) a week, according to the Daily Mirror.
In a different part of London, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli became one of the league's lowest earners, with a weekly wage of £35 000 (R728 000), when he made the move from Fulham to Chelsea in July.

The goalkeeper was seemingly signed by the Blues in a bid to bolster their options ahead of the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, with first-choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, who will be representing Senegal at the tournament, potentially missing up to eight games for the club, per the Liverpool Echo.
Despite the aforementioned duo being amongst the lowest-paid stars in the EPL, their salaries look decent when compared with that of Newcastle United's Sean Longstaff, who is believed to be earning £1 000 (R20 800) a week.
This is the same wage he agreed back in 2018 when he first put pen to paper on professional terms, according to the Daily Mirror.
Manchester United youngster Shola Shoretire and Tottenham Hotspur's Oliver Skipp are also among the lowest earners in England's top flight – scroll through the gallery above to see the lowest-paid stars at every Premier League club!
