After Raheem Sterling put former club Liverpool to the sword last night, the Manchester City star seemingly couldn't help but aim a dig at Joe Gomez after his previous bust-up with the Reds defender.
Sterling was on top form for the Citizens in their 4-0 win over the newly crowned Premier League champions on Thursday, winning the penalty from which Kevin De Bruyne scored the match's opening goal before finding the back of the net himself just 10 minutes before half-time.

Heading into the encounter, one of the major talking points was the fact that the City winger and Liverpool defender Joe Gomez would be meeting for the first time since their infamous bust-up on international duty with England in March.

That altercation left Gomez with scratches to his face after Sterling tried to headlock him in the England canteen and followed after the pair had clashed the week before, during the Reds' 3-1 league win over City in the reverse fixture between the two sides.
According to The Athletic, the Liverpool defender had tried to greet his rival in the canteen when the City star snapped and attacked him, with teammates having to separate the two players from each other.

Sterling was widely criticised following the incident, but had the latest laugh after Thursday's encounter, in which he won the penalty through a foul by Gomez before beating the defender again for his goal later in the first half.
The former Reds star, who joined City in controversial fashion in 2015, then shared a cryptic post on Twitter after the match, in which he shared an image of himself celebrating with Gomez on his knees in the background, which many have interpreted as a dig at the centre-back.
