According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal is worth a staggering £130 million (approximately R3 billion).
The move follows a lengthy standoff between Newcastle and Isak, with the striker publicly declaring that he no longer wanted to remain at the club.
It is the second time in just over a month that Liverpool have broken the Premier League transfer record, having previously signed Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for a reported £116.5 million (R2.7 billion).
