German Bundesliga wrap: Borussia Dortmund scrape past Hertha Berlin

Borussia Dortmund restored the seven-point gap between themselves and leaders Bayern Munich following a hard-fought 1-0 win over Hertha Berlin.

Emre Can got the solitary strike shortly after halftime as both sides went into the break all square.

While Dortmund have cemented second spot, Hertha have dropped to ninth spot following Saturday's action.

RB Leipzig's inconsistent form continued following a disappointing 1-1 draw against bottom-dwellers Paderborn.

Former Sampdoria and AS Roma striker Patrik Schick got the hosts up running midway in the first stanza while Leipzig's Dayot Upamecano was dismissed after 43 minutes following a second booking.

Paderborn got out of jail with virtually the last kick of the game courtesy of substitute Christian Strohdiek.

Fortuna Dusseldorf overcame last weekend's set back against Bayern with a 2-2 draw against TSG Hoffenheim.

Rouwen Hennings found the opener in the first five minutes against Hoffenheim, who were a man down following Benjamin Hubner's ninth minute dismissal.

Moanes Dabour cancelled out the opener later on before Steven Zubner got their second early in the second half, though a penalty from Hennings late on forced the sides to settle for a share of the spoils.

Eintracht Frankfurt's woeful campaign continued following a 2-0 defeat the hands of fourth-from-bottom Mainz.

Goals in either half from Moussa Niakhate and Pierre Kunde put the away side back on the winning trail whilst Eintracht, who won 3-0 in midweek, stay outside the top-half.
