RB Leipzig got their campaign off to a flying start after registering a 3-1 win over Mainz at Red Bull Arena.
Emil Forsberg and Yussuf Poulsen gave the hosts a two-goal cushion inside the first 21 minutes and Jean-Philippe Mateta pulled a goal back for Mainz three minutes after the break.
However, Amadou Haidara secured the three points for Mainz with the third goal just three minutes thereafter.
Julian Nagelsmann's charges will be hoping to maintain their perfect start when they visit Bayer Leverkusen next Saturday while Mainz will be searching for their first points on home soil against newly-promoted side Stuttgart on the same day.
