Bayer Leverkusen missed the chance to go level on points with the league leaders Bayern Munich following a goalless draw against Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Sunday.
Leverkusen, who enjoyed a flawless run of form across all competitions, pulled out the big guns such as goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky and Leon Bailey.
With a few chances flying either end through the encounter, the match ended goalless, leaving Leverkusen in third place with Hertha on eight points down in 13th place.
Ten-man TSG Hoffenheim battled from behind to settle for a 1-1 draw against Mainz 05, missing out on the top-half in the process.
Mainz were first to hit the breakthrough in the final stages of the first half courtesy of Robin Quaison but after trailing at the break, Hoffenheim levelled early in the second period through Ihlas Bebou.
The match weren't without controversy nearer to full-time as Hoffenheim saw Dennis Geiger walking the plank, seeing the clash to a point apiece in the process.
