Lars Stindl also netted a first-half brace for Monchengladbach and Valentino Lazaro pulled a goal back in stoppage time for the visitors but it was too little too late.
Leverkusen moved up to fourth on the log, just three points behind leaders Bayern Munich while Monchengladbach sit in seventh place on the log with 11 points.
