Bayern Munich's lead at the top of the log was cut down to five points after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Union Berlin at the Allianz Arena.

After a goalless first stanza, Jamal Musiala broke the deadlock for the Bavarians in the 68th minute but Marcus Ingvartsen snatched the equaliser for Union in the last five minutes.

RB Leipzig moved five points behind leaders Bayern Munich after drubbing Werder Bremen 4-1 courtesy of a brace by Alexander Sorloth at Weserstadion.

Leipzig raced to a 3-0 lead at half-time, with Dani Olmo opening the scoring before Sorloth completed his brace.

Milot Rashica pulled a goal back for Werder in the 61st minute but Marceclo Sabitzer put the game to bed with the fourth goal for the visitors two minutes later.

Ten-man Borussia Monchengladbach's two-game winning run came to an end after playing to a 2-2 draw with Hertha Berlin at Olympiastadion Berlin.

Gladbach had a horrible start after shot-stopper Yann Sommer was red-carded in the 13th minute and Santiago Ascacibar got the opener for Hertha in the 23rd minute but Alassane Plea equalised for the visitors four minutes later.

Lars Standl gave Gladbach a 2-1 lead seven minutes before the break but Jhon Cordoba levelled matters for the hosts four minutes from the break.

Wolfsburg's three-game winning run came to a halt after narrowly losing to Eintracht Frankfurt in a seven-goal thriller at Commerzbank-Arena.

Ridle Baku, Wout Weghorst and an own goal by Tuta in the last five minutes were not enough to avoid defeat for Wolfsburg, as they were trailing by two goals in the latter stages.

Andre Silva and Erik Durm scored the decisive goals for Frankfurt early in the second stanza to give the hosts some cushion after first-half strikes by Daichi Kamada andLuka Jovic.
