Bayern Munich sit two points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table after a 5-1 thrashing of FC Koln.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting found the back of the net before Robert Lewandowski and Serge Gnabry both grabbed two goals each for the Bavarians, who extend their lead due to second-placed RB Leipzig having suffered defeat.

Meanwhile, Koln remain in 14th position after their 12th defeat of the season.

Borussia Dortmund moved into fifth position on the standings with a 3-0 win over Arminia Bielefeld.

Mahmoud Dahoud, Jadon Sancho and Reinier Jesus Carvalho netted for Edin Terzic's side.

Dortmund have now scored seven without conceding in their last two league games and leapfrog Bayer Leverkusen into fifth, albeit having played a game more. Arminia stay in the relegation zone.

VfB Stuttgart thrashed Schalke 5-1 to pour more misery on the league's basement dwellers.

Wataru Endo (2), Sasa Kalajdzic, Philipp Klement and Daniel Didavi scored for the hosts, while Sead Kolasinac scored Schalke's solitary goal.

Stuttgart move into ninth position with the triumph, while Schalke remain nine points from safety.

VfL Wolfsburg extended their unbeaten run in the league to 10 matches with a 2-0 victory over Hertha Berlin.

Hertha defender Lukas Klunter put the ball into his own net in the 37th minute and the result was only made more comfortable in the 89th minute.

Marin Pongracic was sent off in the fourth minute of stoppage time as the hosts were reduced to ten men in the closing stages.

Wolfsburg are in third position, while Hertha are precariously above the relegation zone in 15th.

RB Leipzig fell further behind Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich after playing to a 2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach.

Monchengladbach led through a Jonas Hoffman own goal and Marcus Thuram strike before Christopher Nkunku and Yussuf Poulsen equalised for Julian Nagelsmann's men in the second half .

Alexander Sorloth scored a dramatic last-gasp winner in the third minute of stoppage time to hand Leipig a massive come-from-behind victory.

Leipzig are in second with 50, four behind Bayern, while Monchengladbach occupy fifth.
