'There's no negotiations between the club and Rulani'

Following a recent sighting of Rulani Mokwena in Morocco, reports suggesting he could join another Botola Pro 1 club have now been dismissed.

Mokwena has yet to take up a new role since his departure from Wydad Athletic Club.

The South African tactician has been linked with several teams, including Zamalek SC and even a sensational return to Orlando Pirates.

He was spotted in the stands during a match between Hassania Union Sport Agadir (HUSA) and Raja Beni Mellal late last month.

According to reports in Morocco, Mokwena’s unexpected presence at the game sparked speculation that he could take charge of HUSA ahead of next season, replacing Moroccan coach Abdelhadi Sektioui, whose contract ends in June 2025.

However, Saida El Aloui, a journalist and club member at HUSA, has dismissed the claims, according to Radio Mars.

"There is nothing to this story,” said El Aloui.

"Rulani only attended the first leg of the play-off match between Hassania and Raja Beni Mellal as a spectator.

"He was with some friends and left the stadium before the match ended. There are no negotiations or agreements with the club’s management.”

HUSA were one of the poorest-performing teams in the 2024/25 Botola Pro 1, finishing 13th on the table with just 29 points from 30 league matches.
