Kenya President William Samoei Ruto has reportedly promised Benni McCarthy's side bonuses if they win the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
The Harambee Stars begin their campaign on Sunday afternoon against DR Congo at the Moi International Sports Centre in Kasarani.

According to Pan Africa Football, the team has now been given some big incentives heading into the showpiece, claiming that the team will get KSh60million (R8,3million) if they win their first CHAN on home soil.
The report claims that each will get KSh1 million (R139,700) for each win while KSh500, 000 (R69,850) will be awarded for a draw.
President Ruto paid the team a visit on Wednesday, 30 July to check on McCarthy and his team ahead of Sunday's opening encounter.
“His presence, alongside Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya, Principal Secretary Elijah Mwangi, and other senior officials, was a strong show of support and encouragement to the team,” A statement read from then FKF read, as per Pan-Africa Football.
“We remain committed to working closely with the government to elevate Kenyan football and wish the team the very best as they represent the country.”
