Hossam El-Badry: Egypt confirm new head coach as Javier Aguirre sucessor

Egypt have finally announced their new head coach to succeed Javier Aguirre, who lost his job after the AFCON 2019 defeat at the hands of South Africa.   After a long protracted saga due to the resignation of the Egyptian Football Association president Hai Abu Reidah after the defeat the Cairo International Stadium - a decision has finally been reached by the newly formed EFA.   Former Al Ahly boss Hossam El-Badry has been selected ahead of the five final candidates that were shortlisted to lead the record seven-time African champions.   El-Badry led the Red Devils to a CAF Champions League title, two league titles, the Egyptian Cup and Super Cup - as well as a league title in Sudan with El-Merrikh.   According to reports in Egyptian media, former coach Hassan Shehata, Hossam El Badry, Al Ahly legend Hossam Hassan, former Premir League star Mido and Ehab Galal - were all interviewed.   While Galal was selected by the board, his reported technical staff and financial demands scuppered the appoinment for the former Zamalek SC boss.
