Ex-Chiefs striker becomes a 'free agent'

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is reportedly a free agent once again after parting ways with a certain African outfit.

The 27-year-old striker joined USM Alger on a free transfer in February on a one-year deal after left Iran Persian Gulf Pro League outfit Zob Ahan after two months.

However, the Burundi international's time with Alger has not lasted long either as Foot Africa have reported that the club have parted ways with the player.

The former Chiefs striker made a total of 17 appearances for Alger this campaign but only managed to score three goals and failed to impress throughout that period.

The report adds that Alger are undergoing a major squad overhaul ahead of the new season, which is also in line with Ligue 1's new reduced foreign quota rules.

Bimenyimana and Alger have now amicably gone their separate ways, with the former now back on the market looking to join his 12th club of his career.

This is not the first time Bimenyimana has had short stints, having spent just one season at Chiefs while he also did not play a competitive game for Al Ahly Benghazi after picking up a serious injury while on national team duty.
