An Al Ahly star has now claimed that Pitso Mosimane's departure from the Egyptian club was a new beginning for him after "a difficult psychological period" under the South African coach "almost destroyed" him.
Mosimane seemingly has no shortage of critics, with some of his past players having publicly criticised his methods and the way they were allegedly treated by the manager.

Another one of his former players has now spoken out against "Jingles", claiming that the 59-year-old put him under psychological pressure during his tenure, which lasted from October 2020 to June 2022.
Current Al Ahly star Karim Fouad was signed by the club in September 2021, during Mosimane's reign, but his first year at the club was not what he had imagined.

"One time, I participated in a friendly match and I was surprised after the end of the match by Mosimane telling me: 'You frustrated me, and I thought you were better than that. You are a good, young player, and you have strength and effort, but you lack quality and technical matters'," the 24-year-old winger said, according to Egyptian newspaper Akhbar el-Yom.
"Mosimane continued to deal with me on this basis throughout the season, which caused me to go through a difficult psychological period that almost destroyed me.
"I was avoiding talking about football with anyone, and after his departure from Al Ahly, it was a new beginning for me."
Fouad played just 16 times under Mosimane at Ahly and registered zero goal involvements, with the bulk of those appearances coming from the bench.

This is some contrast to Fouad's time under current Red Devils manager Marcel Koller, under whom he has registered seven goals and six assists in 37 matches across all competitions.
