According to Egyptian outlet One3, Tau has been receiving foreign offers via the wife of former Al Ahly manager Pitso Mosimane, Moira Tlhagale.
It is further claimed that the Red Devils' director of football, Khaled Bebo, held a meeting with Tau and advised the player against becoming preoccupied with a potential move at this time of the season.
The 12-time CAF Champions League winners are pushing to make up ground as they eye another Egyptian Premier League title.
As such, Bebo is said to have stressed that the attacker resist any offers put forward to him by Tlhagale, who is said to be "marketing" the former Mamelodi Sundowns star to Gulf teams.
The Ahly executive is also said to have promised Tau that official offers for his services will be discussed at a later stage, and that a decision that satisfies the interests of both parties will be made.
