As Mokwena is currently shaping his squad, several reports across the continent suggest that the coach is plotting a reunion with the talented forward.

The two South Africans previously worked together at Mamelodi Sundowns, where Mailula shone during a stellar 2022/23 season before making the move to Toronto in 2023.
Notably, when Mokwena took charge of Wydad Athletic Club last season, he brought in the diminutive attacker on loan from Toronto to bolster his squad.
However, the 38-year-old mentor was dismissed before the end of the season, while Mailula remained with the Red Castle until their exit from the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
Following Wydad's early elimination in the group stages, the speedy attacker confirmed his departure from the Moroccan giants and is now a free agent.
Now, reports indicate that Mokwena is once again keen on linking up with Mailula, pushing for a move that could see the 24-year-old join Alger.

According to Moroccan publication Le Lite Info, Toronto FC are open to loaning the player out for the upcoming season, as he appears to be surplus to requirements.
It remains to be seen whether the former Masandawana duo will reunite and recapture their previous success, this time in North Africa with Alger, as the Wydad era came to an end.
