The 35-year-old French tactician takes over the reins from Miloud Hamdi, who recently left to join Egyptian outfit Ismaily SC. Hamdi leaves behind a strong legacy, having guided Yanga to a domestic double, the Tanzanian Premier League title, and the Federation Cup.

The young and ambitious Folz arrives at Yanga following a short but impactful stint at Algerian club Olympique Akbou. Initially appointed as sporting director, he was later moved to be a head coach, where he successfully steered the team away from relegation in just five months.

Folz’s coaching journey spans multiple countries across Africa, including roles at Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu in South Africa, as well as a recent spell as an assistant coach at the reigning Betway Premiership champions, Sundowns.

His appointment at the Tanzanian outfit signals the club’s intent to maintain their domestic supremacy while pushing for continental success in the CAF Champions League.
