5 PSL stars who teamed up with carmakers

Having recently covered Themba Zwane's car-related partnerships, here are more big-name PSL stars, past and present, who have teamed up with automakers and dealerships.

Stars like Khama Billiat, Teko Modise, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Wayde Jooste and Orlando Pirates captain Happy Jele all have collaborated with some of the best brands in the car industry.

Though we cannot confirm the details of their partnership, we can conclude that these collaborations did in fact happen as the images and player's captions suggest.

Scroll through the gallery above to see some of the brands the afore-mentioned stars have teamed up with before.

What is clear is that footballers and cars are a match, or at least that is something auto manufacturers based in South Africa have realised.

It seems that associating some of the best players in the South African topflight with brands like Lexus and Peugeot is a trick that works.

Anyway, the obvious perks of this relationship between the player and business are that the baller gets to drive around in a nice car at very little expense. Thanks to his partnership, Jooste was driving around in the stunning Peugeot 3008 SUV worth R519 900 at the time.

Meanwhile his skipper Jele has had several Lexus ranges at his disposal, including SUVs and premium sedans.

Meanwhile, Modise, Shabba and Billiat teamed up with Pharoah Auto Investments, which is a luxury car dealership based in Sandton. We do not know the exact terms of their relationship but we do know there was an agreement in place, whether small or big.

Your thoughts, please?

Which star would you like to see partner with a car brand in the future?
