Asamoah Gyan: Kaizer Chiefs are one of the biggest clubs in Africa

Legendary Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan has described Kaizer Chiefs as being one of the biggest clubs on the African continent.

Gyan, alongside the likes of former England international Owen Hargreaves, Siphiwe Tshabalala and others, was part of an invitational team which took part in an exhibition match at Kaizer Chiefs Village on Wednesday in collobartion with SuperSport.

The 37-year-old, who scored a record 51 goals for Ghana and represented the likes of Rennes, Sunderland and Udinese at club level, found himself on the scoresheet on the day and was left impressed by the Amakhosi's facilities.

"It was a fun game to be part of and I was happy to score some goals," Gyan told Chiefs' website. "Some of the legends still have it.

"And it was great to be at the Kaizer Chiefs Village, the Club is one of the biggest clubs in Africa and the experience and the facilities was perfect. I wish Kaizer Chiefs all the best in the future and thank them for hosting us so warmly."

The invitational team took on a Chiefs legend outfit that included current head coach Arthur Zwane and his assistant coach Dillon Sheppard as well as former players such as Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Siyabonga Nkosi, Brian Baloyi, Cyril Nzama, Nhlanhla Kubheka and Lucas Radebe.
