Swallows to potentially lose PSL grant?

Swallows are potentially facing a possible sanction by the PSL after being ordered to pay Thabo Mosadi his owed salary by the end of March.

The midfielder signed for Swallows before the start of the 2020/21 season.

Mosadi still had an existing contract with the Dube Birds when he was told to look for employment elsewhere.

"His case is with the union, the last I checked Swallows reached an agreement with the player," a source tells KickOff.

"They promised to pay him around R60 000 a month to settle the debt.

"They had to pay him that amount of money over five months.

"First month November [2023] they paid him well.

"Second month, which was December they paid him only R6000.

"And in the clause that Mosadi signed with Swallows it was agreed that if it happens that they default, the PSL will have to deduct all the money they owe him from their monthly grant.

"The PSL has written a letter to Swallows that if they don't pay the money owed it will be deducted from the club's grant this month.

"They were given until the end of March.

Things are also not looking for the Soweto club on the pitch as they currently languishing in 14th position, just five points ahead of rock-bottom Marumo Gallants.
