In this edition of My Muti Story, Tebogo Monyai shares how Orlando Pirates once provided his Moroka Swallows side with a dressing room that smelled like a dead cat.
The 43-year-old played for the likes of Mpumalanga Black Aces, Moroka Swallows and the University of Pretoria FC during his playing days.
"In professional football, almost every team believes in their own rituals," Monyai tells KickOff.

"So, I've seen even opposition teams practising muti.
"From all the teams I've played for Moroka Swallows were the ones who used muti the most.
"They used to wash our soccer kit and even boots before every game we played.
"We were summoned to put our soccer boots in the centre of the dressing room and the kit manager would go through putting muti in them.
"As for the kit it came to the dressing room wherever it came from already wet.
"I remember when we played Orlando Pirates away at Ellis Park Stadium.
"As we walked in our kit manager stormed out of our dressing room running saying 'Hey madoda don't dare enter the dressing room without coarse salt in your hand!'
"He went and bought salt and shared it with every Swallows player.
"He said 'Ye madoda, immediately you walk into the dressing you throw the salt first.'
"Remember at Ellis Park Stadium the dressing room is on top, when we walked into the dressing room... yesses!
"It smelled like a cat just died about three, four days ago and it was never removed.
"So, the belief is coarse salt neutralises muti.
"We drew with Orlando Pirates that day."
