The former Bucs midfielder looks set to make his debut for the Dube Birds when they travel to Cape Town next Tuesday to face Cape Town City at the DHL Cape Town Stadium.

Sources have revealed that Mahlonoko has joined the Moroka Swallows on a short-term contract with an option to renew at the end of the season according to an insider close to the club.

"It's up to him to make use of the opportunity. He is working hard at training and hopeful will start playing football very soon," said the source.

The Vaal-born midfielder remains one of the youngest players to make a professional debut in the colours of Orlando Pirates as a 17-year-old in 2018.

Meanwhile, former Moroka Swallows defender Tshediso Patjie has joined Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation. Patjie is among players released by Swallows recently due to what the club termed as misconduct.
