Sundowns were held to a goalless draw by Chippa United at Loftus Stadium today in a match that carried over from last night due to a power failure in the area.
Downs, with 33 points from 15 games, are two points shy of log leaders SuperSport United, but still boast three matches in hand as they play catch-up in the league owing to their CAF exploits.
Cape Town City, Bidvest Wits and Kaizer Chiefs are also in the race for league honours, but Mosimane they will eventually "cancel each other" and expects the big Soweto Derby to produce another stalemate on the weekend.
"We gonna cancel each other. Like now, Chippa with us, we dropped points. The Derby is always a draw, you know that. People are also dropping points there," said Mosimane.
"Wits and Chippa esgoding lapha [is a tough battle field], it's not easy there. Can you really say you gonna win? Wits and SuperSport is a big game. Wits and Citizens, it's a big game. So we gonna cancel each other here and there. You just take what you have to take.
"That’s why I said too, we don’t have to beat Wits and Cape Town City to win the league because somewhere and somehow people will cancel each other. It's not like Chelsea they are alone there, 12 points [ahead]. We wish we could be on top of the log but the reality is we are not."
Mosimane's men next visit second-placed Cape Town City at Athlone Stadium on Friday.
